On July 17 and 18, 2021, the 4th National Ultrasound Quality Control Conference, hosted by PUMCH, was held virtually. The conference has been a major event of ultrasound academic exchanges. Themed “quality and compassion going together and going afar”, this year’s conference invited nearly 100 ultrasound experts and scholars and heads of ultrasound quality control centers in various provinces for exchanges and sharing, gaining more than 460,000 views online.

The conference showcased the quality control training program “Promotion of Ultrasound Quality Control Nationwide” initiated by the International Health Exchange and Cooperation Center of the National Health Commission and supported by the National Ultrasound Quality Control Center. The program, which was launched in 2021, will help build the ultrasound quality control system and promote the exchange of experience among ultrasound quality control centers and healthcare facilities at all levels.

The conference also officially released the “Expert Consensus on Quality Control of Breast Ultrasound”. Professor Jiang Yuxin pointed out that the consensus aims at achieving mutual recognition of reports nationwide and helping the implementation of national policies such as tiered healthcare. The automatic analysis system of breast nodules, developed under the guidance of the National Ultrasound Quality Control Center, also contributes to better quality control of breast ultrasound.

The conference put on full display the ultrasound quality control work in China from multiple angles and on multiple dimensions through its wide range of agenda items including keynote speech, experience exchange, focus on quality control, quality control indicators and report analysis, guideline interpretation, and excellent paper sharing.
