On May 15th, 2021, with Dermatology Department of Peking Union Medical College Hospital as the lead organizer, the inaugural meeting of Rare Skin Disease Committee, China Alliance for Rare Disease/Beijing Rare Diseases Diagnosis and Treatment Association, and the First National Skin Rare Disease Academic Conference was successfully held, in the form of both on-site participation and live stream.
The newly elected chairman of the committee, Prof. Jin Hongzhong, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Prof. Jin introduced the current status and trends of rare skin disease research in China. Prof. Tang Fuchou from Peking University explained the use of single-cell sequencing technology to explore the mysteries of human development and diseases. Dr. Liu Peng then presented the operation situation and operation mode of the China National Rare Disease Registration System (NRDRS). Prof. Liu Jie introduced the construction of China's primary cutaneous lymphoma diagnosis and treatment system and future prospect. Jointly, they presented an academic feast for the audience.
Chairman and vice-chairmen of the Rare Skin Disease Committee shared highly representative cases, covering tumors, infections, genetic diseases, inflammatory diseases and other fields. The various types of cases and the complex clinical manifestations left a deep impression on the audience.
This conference not only established a high-quality academic exchange platform for the field of rare skin diseases in our country, but also created a good start for future academic work on rare diseases.
