"Rare Diseases", the third round of national planning textbook of the Ministry of Education and the National Health Commission for postgraduates in medical colleges and universities, was officially released during "2020 China Conference on Rare Diseases, and was put on sale at the same time.

“Rare diseases” consists of three parts, a total of 27 chapters and 134 sections. In this textbook, the general theories of rare diseases is authoritatively expounded in detail, the diagnosis and treatment of rare genetic diseases (such as chromosomal diseases and genomic diseases, monogenic diseases, mitochondrial diseases, etc.) and major rare diseases of various organ systems (such as cardiovascular, nervous, respiratory, digestive, renal, blood, reproductive, endocrine metabolism, immune, ect.) are introduced comprehensively and systematically by both text and graphics. It is practical and instructive.  

This textbook fills the gap in the field of rare diseases from the level of medical education, hoping to train more qualified medical and health workers related to rare diseases and establish a scientific, systematic and standardized mode of diagnosis and treatment for rare diseases, and to enhance the awareness and attention of medical workers and even the whole society to rare diseases. It has a positive strategic importance to solve a series of problems, such as difficult diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases, difficulties in research and development of orphan drugs, and poor medicine accessibility.
