On December 22, 2020, Professor Du Bin, Director of Medical Intensive Care Unit Peking Union Medical College Hospital’s (PUMCH), was awarded the honorary title of “Beijing Advanced Worker”.

Spearheading the field of critical-care medicine in China, Professor Du has made remarkable contributions during the country's major public health emergencies. Since the outbreak of Covid-19, Professor Du hasted to the front line in Wuhan on January 18th as the only critical-care medicine expert in a group of high-level experts of the National Health Commission. Despite the unforeseen risks and danger, Professor Du had then moved to Heilongjiang, Xinjiang, Beijing, Shandong, Yunnan and various places to support the nation’s epidemic control. Being the pillar of strength, Professor Du excellently accomplished various tasks and saved a large number of critically ill patients, contributing significantly to winning the battle against the pandemic.
