From November 7th to 9th, 2020, the 7th Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) -Tibet Ultrasound Forum and the establishment ceremony of Tibet Ultrasound Quality Control Center were successfully held in Lhasa, Tibet. This forum is co-sponsored by the Professional Committee of the Tibet Society of Diagnostic Ultrasound, Society of Diagnostic Ultrasound of Beijing Medical Association, the Tibet Ultrasound Engineering Society and the People's Hospital of Tibet Autonomous Region. The ultrasound department of PUMCH and ultrasound department of the People's Hospital of Tibet Autonomous Region jointly organized this forum.

Since the organizing department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CCCPC) and the National Health Commission launched the "clustered medical aid program” in Tibet in 2015, the ultrasound department of PUMCH has been assisting Tibet for five consecutive years, promoting the construction of the ultrasound department in Tibet via improving new ultrasonic technology development, physician training, performance management, medical scientific research and information construction, etc.

There is lack of oxygen, but there is no lack of PUMCH spirit. Even in the face of low atmospheric pressure, there is no compromise of the PUMCH standard. The ultrasound department of PUMCH has been adhering to this original intention, and persistently held a series of high-quality academic activities to promote the steady progress of the ultrasound medicine in Tibet in all fields. Up to now, the PUMCH-Tibet Ultrasound Forum has been held for the seventh time, becoming a brand academic activity in Tibet.

Moreover, the Tibet Ultrasound Quality Control Center was established at this conference, which is of great importance for improving the ultrasound quality control system in Tibet Autonomous Region.
