On the afternoon of December 1, 2020, open exercise and training of the logistics and cleaning staff were held in Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH). The activity aimed at applying multiple measures to better protect people and the hospital from contagious disease, and to help the pandemic control and prevention in the winter and up-coming spring. Vice presidents Peixin Wu and Ding Han, and directors and professionals of relevant departments attended the event.

Peixin Wu, the vice president of PUMCH said that the cleaning team is an indispensable part of the PUMCH family. We are still in the critical moment of regular COVID-19 control and prevention. The cleaning staff should always be concerned about the pandemic prevention and control, and make continuous effort in personal protection, cleaning and disinfection work.

About 50 representatives of cleaners participated in this activity. The competition was divided into three parts: garbage can bagging, pollutant disposal and floor towel replacement. All the contestants completed the competition with high quality and exhibited professional skills. Peixin Wu and Ding Han presented awards to the winning teams, and encouraged the cleaning staff to continuously carry forward the spirit of "keeping the environment clean and making the surroundings hygienic ", in order to embrace and celebrate a new century of PUMCH.

Since September, the Department of Central Support has successively carried out activities such as "Full-scale Cleaning-up to Welcome the National Day", "Shining Ceilings and Floors" and "Hygienic Sides and Corners" to create "Clean PUMCH" meticulously.

Winter and spring are seasons of high incidence of infectious respiratory diseases, which is the crucial period of regular epidemic control and prevention. PUMCH is always cautious of the potential risks by adhering to the purpose of "focusing on people and surroundings", eliminating the gap between the demands and measures in epidemic control, guarding each protecting barrier, strengthening each line of defense, and consolidating the precious achievements in epidemic control and prevention.
