This signing marks the second partnership between the two hospitals, following their initial strategic cooperation agreement in 2019. In her remarks, President Zhang looked back on the collaborative journey between both institutions and expressed optimism about their partnership. She shared three key expectations: establishing new paradigms for healthcare collaboration, where "PUMCH standards" and "HKSH service excellence" complement each other, setting new benchmarks for healthcare development across mainland China and Hong Kong; creating joint innovation platforms, where "PUMCH expertise" and "HKSH solutions" enhance each other's capabilities to advance medical frontiers; and building new ecosystems for talent development, where the rigorous scholarship of PUMCH and the open educational approach of HKSH inspire each other.

Medical Superintendent Dr. Li Wai Tat, Walton welcomed the PUMCH delegation and noted that the initial 2019 strategic collaboration agreement represented a significant milestone on HKSH's ongoing efforts to advance high-quality medical services, fostering extensive exchanges since then between the two institutions across multiple fields. He expressed hope that diverse platforms would enable both institutions to share knowledge and experience more effectively, deepening their collaborative relationship. Through this partnership, they aim to elevate medical service standards while fostering talent development across mainland China and Hong Kong, ultimately advancing cutting-edge medical innovation that benefits more patients.

During this pivotal period of comprehensive advancement in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area development, this renewed partnership represents not only strategic collaboration between two century-old prestigious hospitals, but also a prime example of coordinated innovation in healthcare under the "One Country, Two Systems" principle. Moving forward, both institutions will leverage their respective strengths with greater vision and more concrete measures to jointly contribute to building a Healthy China and improving healthcare for people across mainland China and Hong Kong.

Representatives from relevant departments of PUMCH and members of the HKSH Management Committee attended the signing ceremony.
