On the morning of August 17, 2022, the PUMCH 2022 Induction Ceremony for new employees and postdocs was held in the Lecture Hall. President Zhang Shuyang delivered an impressive orientation speech to the 378 “strong new recruits”, where she specified requirements and high expectations, shedding light on the path to become a qualified PUMCHer and giving new impetus to the high-quality development of the hospital.

On behalf of the leadership team and all PUMCHers, President Zhang Shuyang extended her welcome to the new employees to join the PUMCH family. At the induction ceremony, the leaders of the hospital placed a badge which symbolized the PUMCH identity on the chest of representatives of new employees and postdocs. Then, guided by the oath leader, all the new employees and postdocs raised their right hands and swore a solemn oath to protect people's health and life safety. Zhou Yu, a resident of the Department of Pediatrics, Shi Di, the deputy director of the Department of Emergency, and Liu Zhengyin, the director of the Department of Infectious Diseases, delivered speeches on behalf of the new and senior employees respectively.

Among the 378 new hires who joined the PUMCH family this year, 267 are new staff and 111 postdocs. Their boarding procedures were completed on the first day of work thanks to the "one-stop" service model adopted by all the departments, which covered HR, party and league relations, household registration, accommodation, etc. Visits to the history museum and medical records exhibition were organized to provide deeper insights into the culture and history of PUMCH. Follow-up hospital-level trainings and on-the-job skill trainings will be conducted to consolidate their expertise, so that they can get their careers off to a good start.

Every generation carries its own mission and responsibility. Standing at the new starting point in the new century, new employees are not only the witnesses, builders, and pioneers of the new era of PUMCH, they also have a duty to pursue, empower and achieve the new dream of PUMCH through deep involvement in the high-quality development of the hospital. To boldly complete the mission of the new century, they should fulfill the tasks entrusted by the country and live up to the expectations of the public.
