The Clinical Postdoctoral of PUMCH Won the 2nd Prize of the BRICS Youth Science Innovation Competition

On September 16, 2021, coinciding with the PUMCH centennial celebration, great news came that Gao Junyi, a clinical medical postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Surgery, Class of 2019, won the 2nd prize of the 4th BRICS Youth Science Innovation Competition on the strength of his excellent performance.

The 6th BRICS Young Scientists Forum (BRICS YSF) was held online in Bangalore, India, from September 13 to 16, aiming to strengthen cooperation in science and technology innovation among young scientists from BRICS countries, as a complementary event to the BRICS Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Ministerial Meeting. Themed “building better societies through science, technology and innovation”, this forum offered a stage for young innovators from BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) to showcase their strengths and compete with each other.

As a representative of young Chinese researchers, Gao Junyi, Class of 2019, a clinical medical postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Surgery of PUMCH, won the 2nd prize of the 4th BRICS Youth Science Innovation Competition with his “application of artificial intelligence imaging system in endoscopic surgeries”, demonstrating on the global stage the capabilities of Chinese young innovators and outstanding young physicians of PUMCH.
