On the afternoon of March 4, 2015, a signing ceremony of a Framework Agreement on Joint Construction of State Major Sci-tech Infrastructure Project on Translational Medicine was held in Beihang University (formerly Beijing Institute of Aeronautics). The agreement was signed by Zhao Yupei, president of PUMCH, and Xu Huibin, executive vice president of Beihang.
This marks another milestone in the construction of PUMCH's Translational Medicine Center. It is an important part of such construction to strengthen cooperation with universities and conduct cross-disciplinary researches, so as to infuse medicine with engineering and achieve effective integration of "medicine, research, education and industry". Both medicine and aeronautics are subjects emphasizing sophistication and precision, and therefore have wide prospects of cooperation. PUMCH and Beihang will further streamline existing resources, blend their respective advantages, strive for innovations in the advancement of translational medicine so as to better serve patients.
