On July 4, 2023, Zhao Changlu, Party Secretary of Beihang University and Wang Yunpeng, President of Beihang University, Zhang Shuyang, President of PUMCH and Wu Peixin, Vice President of PUMCH attended the signing ceremony of the agreement for a new round of strategic cooperation between the two organizations. Liu Juncai, Director of Beijing Municipal Health Commission, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.

Zhao Changlu and Wang Yunpeng expressed their warm welcome to the PUMCH guests. They recognized the great significance of the strategic cooperation agreement to advance in-depth medical-engineering integration and improve health. They hoped that in the areas concerned, the two sides could make focused efforts and pull the right levers to keep advancing pragmatic cooperation, setting an example for medical-engineering partnership in China.

Zhang Shuyang and Wu Peixin sincerely thanked Beihang University and Beijing Municipal Health Commission for their support and help all along. They expressed the desire for both sides to, on the basis of the collaboration agreement signed in 2015, pragmatically advance cooperation in more areas under an innovative mechanism, particularly scientific research, talent cultivation and outcome translation  in medical-engineering fields. The ultimate purpose is to better serve people’s health with scientific and technological outcomes.

Director Liu Juncai fully recognized the achievements of the two organizations in innovative medical-engineering research. She said that a favorable policy environment would continue to be built and maintained, in which the two organizations will tap into their respective advantages and accelerate innovation to ensure fruitful outcomes in efforts and endeavors geared towards people’s health needs.

According to the agreement, the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in platform building, scientific research, outcome translation, personnel training, student cultivation, and digital information, among others. Other attendees were Tao Zhi, Vice President of Beihang University, Yang Dungan and Du Bin, both Vice President of PUMCH, and heads of relevant administrative departments of both sides.
