Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) has devoted a lot of efforts in assisting Tibet, and in recent years, it has dispatched 75 elite professionals to work in Tibet to develop the Tibet Autonomous Region People's Hospital to the standard of the "Great West Campus" of PUMCH. On March 1, 2023, a work meeting and welcome party for the trainees of the Tibet Autonomous Region People's Hospital was held in the Lecture Hall of PUMCH. Yang Dungan, Vice President of PUMCH, attended the meeting and delivered a remark. Fifteen doctors, nurses and technicians from the Tibet Autonomous Region People's Hospital will carry out further studies at PUMCH ranging from three months to one year.

On behalf of PUMCH’s leadership team, Vice President Yang Dungan expressed a warm welcome to the 15 trainees from the Tibet Autonomous Region People's Hospital and put forward three requirements. Firstly, "use is the best training"; each department should give the trainees the opportunity to practice and go deeper into clinical work. Secondly, "strict management is the best care"; the department should strengthen management, and the trainees should discipline themselves and strictly abide by the rules and regulations of PUMCH in their life and work. Thirdly, they should learn not only the "knowledge" but also the "art", and it is expected that the trainees will actively learn the medical technology, management experience and cultural heritage of PUMCH, and be inculcated and inspired in the "melting pot" of PUMCH, so that they can obtain a fruitful and rewarding learning experience.

In their speeches, the heads of several departments and offices expressed their welcome to the trainees of the Tibet Autonomous Region People's Hospital. At the same time, PUMCH will make arrangement for the work, study and life of the trainees and provide all-round support.

Chen Youkang and other five representatives of the trainees also expressed that they would cherish this valuable training opportunity, earnestly follow the rules and requirements of PUMCH on the management of the trainees and devote themselves to this training with greater enthusiasm, integrity, diligence and apply flexible learning methods.

In the future, PUMCH will continue to respond to the call of the Organization Department and the National Health Commission and make new and greater contributions to the high-quality development of the Tibet Autonomous Region People's Hospital and the health of Tibetan people on the snowy plateau during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
