The final appraisal meeting of 2020 Medical Research Achievement Awards of PUMCH was successfully concluded on 23 December, 2020. In the meeting, each participating team reported their achievements in clinical practice and advances in translational medicine, and were graded by the appraisal committee composed of Vice President Wu Peixin, Vice President Han Ding, Vice President Peng Bin, members of three committees, advisors of discipline development, representatives of directors from different departments, members of medical teams aiding Hubei and Tibet, and representatives of former winners. Five first prizes, thirteen second prizes and twenty-two third prizes were awarded out of 110 candidates in three categories, Overcoming Difficulties, Translational Innovations and Future Stars. These results highlighted the substantial medical achievements of PUMCH at the present stage.
Since 1986, PUMCH has established the “Medical Achievement Awards”, which is organized annually by the Department of Medical Affairs. The award recognizes successful rescues of critical patients, research advances of diagnosis and treatment for rare diseases, and innovations of clinical practices. These 110 applications were selected from more than 30 departments, which fully demonstrates the advantages of multi-disciplinary collaboration at PUMCH.
In recent years, PUMCH has made great efforts to improve translational research, tackle major problems in medicine and health, and promote the innovation and development of key medical technologies. With a number of world-level achievements, PUMCH has obtained wide and high recognition domestically and aboard. Medical Achievement Awards motivate the innovation and development of PUMCH, as well as facilitate the sharing of our experience and standards to the world.
