Vice Minister Zeng Yixin pointed out that health transcends borders and remains a universal aspiration of humankind. He expressed his hope that PUMCH will draw upon its century-long heritage to continue serving as a national model in clinical care, education, and research. Executive Vice Minister Ma Zhaoxu emphasized that PUMCH is a testament to how the Chinese and U.S. people can transcend cultural and systemic differences to jointly safeguard human health. He urged both nations to strengthen dialogue and partnership in healthcare, jointly protect global public health security, and make greater contributions toward building constructive strategic stability between China and U.S. Vice Mayor Jin Wei commended PUMCH for serving humanity with extraordinary clinical skill and nurturing medical talent with exacting standards, and he is eager to see more signature "PUMCH firsts" mature into benchmark Chinese solutions. U.S. Ambassador to China David Perdue emphasized that competition and cooperation are not mutually exclusive. With both nations working toward constructive strategic stability founded on fairness and reciprocity, PUMCH stands as a compelling testament to what China and the U.S. can achieve together. Dr. Roger I. President Zhang Shuyang underscored that PUMCH and the U.S. medical community have always enriched and elevated each other. Reaffirming that medicine knows no borders and that health for all remains a universal aspiration, she outlined PUMCH’s forward-looking mission. The hospital, she stated, aspires to be a pioneer in world-class institutional excellence, a steadfast champion of international medical cooperation, and a trailblazer in healthcare advancement—joining hands with global peers to confront shared health challenges.

The friendship and collaboration between PUMCH and CMB have spanned more than a century. In 2016, the two sides signed their first MoU, and PUMCH welcomed CMB back to its offices on the hospital campus. Over the ensuing years, they have conducted fruitful collaborations in standardized residency training, graduate medical education (GME), and clinical postdoctoral fellowship programs. This partnership has continually elevated China’s GME framework, developing systemic and standardized residency pathways while aligning them with global best practices, and serving as a vital channel for nurturing top-tier medical talent at PUMCH and nationwide.
