Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) is a modern Tertiary Grade A general hospital that integrates clinical care, education, and research. It was designated by the National Health Commission as the national referral center for complex and critical cases. PUMCH was among the first hospitals in China to provide medical services to foreign patients. It serves as a national demonstration base for higher medical education and standardized residency training, as well as a national core facility for clinical research and technological innovation. 1. Eligibility Requirements

(1) Chinese citizenship, compliance with the Constitution and laws of the People's Republic of China, and a clean record with no violations of regulations or discipline;

(2) Integrity and dedication to healthcare;

(3) Sound physical and mental health, capable of meeting position requirements;

(4) Not exceeding 35 years of age in principle, with doctoral degree obtained within the past 3 years;

(5) Strong academic background, innovative vitality and scholarly potential, capacity to conduct independent research, and proficiency in professional English reading and writing;

(6) Significant research achievements with important technical value to the prospective mentor's research direction;

(7) Restrictions on the proportion of same-institution, same-discipline (first-level discipline) candidates admitted;

Clarification of "same institution" and "same discipline":

"Same institution": For example, a doctoral graduate from Peking Union Medical College applying again to Peking Union Medical College is considered same-institution application;

"Same discipline": Medicine-related first-level disciplines include Basic Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Stomatology, Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Integrative Chinese and Western Medicine, Pharmacy, Chinese Materia Medica, Special Medicine, Medical Technology, and Nursing. For instance, doctoral graduates in Basic Medicine may select other disciplines for their postdoctoral research;

(8) Within three years prior to admission, ≥1 first author or co-first author (ranked first) SCI-indexed publication in journals classified as Tier 2 or above according to the Chinese Academy of Sciences journal classification system;

(9) Compliance with all other relevant national policy requirements.

2. Admission

Admission is granted following rigorous institutional selection and interview processes.

3. Compensation and Benefits

During their tenure, research postdoctoral fellows will receive a compensation package structured with reference to that of regular PUMCH staff, in addition to postdoctoral benefits stipulated by national policies.

4. Completion

(1) Completion standards follow the Peking Union Medical College Hospital Postdoctoral Management Measures (Trial);

(2) Upon completion, outstanding postdoctoral fellows may be selected for job positions at the hospital following performance evaluation.
