From April 12 to 16, 2025, the “The Bond of Kuliang”: 2025 U.S.-China Youth Health Dialogue was held in Fujian and Guangdong Provinces. Through visits and academic discussions, young medical professionals from both countries explored cutting-edge medical advancements and carried forward the historic “Bond of Kuliang.”

Beijing Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) invited 21 medical students from the University of Michigan Medical School and the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, along with 15 young professionals from PUMCH, to participate in this meaningful event. Before and after the dialogue, many American medical students also visited PUMCH for further exchange and learning.

Back in Beijing, the American students toured the PUMCH History Museum, gaining a deeper understanding of the hospital’s outstanding contributions to public health and medical advancement in China. They also visited the Departments of Cardiology, Dermatology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Thoracic Surgery to gain insights into the hospital’s specialized development and clinical practices.

Medicine knows no borders. Over the years, PUMCH has maintained strong and friendly ties with U.S. institutions such as the University of Chicago and the University of Michigan. This event further deepened the exchange between young physicians from both countries and contributed to the advancement of international cooperation in healthcare and the development of global health diplomacy.
