Established in 2015, the China Consortium of Elite Teaching Hospitals is tasked with promoting the establishment of standards, systems, and models for the standardized training of resident physicians in China that is up to international standards. The consortium aspires to develop an excellent team of clinical physicians that are deemed as elite talents capable of advancing healthcare reforms rather than merely mediocre ones. This way, the consortium helps achieve the ambitious goals in the “Outline of the Healthy China 2030 Plan”. Thanks to the close collaboration between its members over the past eight years, the consortium has made beneficial explorations and achieved significant progress in the Graduate Medical Education.
