On November 20, 2022, the Hospital Management Institute of Fudan University officially released the 2021 China Hospital Rankings, which PUMCH topped for the 13th year in a row.

The institute also evaluated 42 specialties, and 28 specialties of PUMCH made the top 10. Nine specialties ranked first, namely the Department of Pathology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, General Surgery, Neurology, Nuclear Medicine, Emergency, Intensive Care Unit and Allergy. Five specialties ranked second, namely the Department of Radiology, Anesthesiology, Endocrinology, Clinical Laboratory and Diagnostic Ultrasound. The rest 14 ranked between the third and tenth. PUMCH’s research and academic performance scored higher points and set its record. The Department of Rheumatology once again got full marks in both specialty reputation and research and academic performance.
