The Second National Academic Conference on Rare Skin Diseases Held

To strengthen academic exchanges concerning the prevention and treatment of and safeguards for rare skin diseases and promote their standardized diagnosis and treatment, the second National Academic Conference on Rare Skin Diseases was held simultaneously online and offline on August 27, 2022. Since its establishment on May 15, 2021, the special committee has carried out a series of fruitful tasks around establishing the diagnosis and treatment collaboration system, building a platform to promote diagnosis, treatment and science popularization, conducting clinical research, and holding academic conferences. This year, PUMCH took the lead in establishing the first medical consortium for rare skin diseases in China, with 107 members in the first batch from 26 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government. In the future, the consortium will, in line with the development philosophy of openness, professionalism and synergy, carry out business cooperation and academic exchanges around the prevention, treatment, talent training and clinical studies concerning rare skin diseases, build a standardized diagnosis and treatment system, establish a nationwide collaborative network, and improve the diagnosis and treatment capabilities in China.

With the focus on the diagnosis and treatment of rare skin diseases and the building of a diagnosis and treatment system, the conference set up five special sessions on research progress, diagnosis and treatment system construction, ideas on clinical diagnosis and treatment, young physicians, and intractable cases. On such a high-standard academic exchange platform accessible to medical professionals all over the country, the nearly 40 invited famous experts and young scholars delivered wonderful presentations and engaged in animated discussions, touching on the diagnosis and treatment progresses of more than 30 kinds of rare skin diseases. The event registered more than 15,000 attendances online.
