On the evening of May 20, 2021, a video meeting was held between Dr. Zhang Shuyang, president of Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) and Dr. Stoll, president of China Medical Board (CMB). Dr. Stoll has been the chairman of CMB since 2021 and is a well-known professor of pediatrics in the United States. The video meeting was the second meeting between the two presidents.
In the video meeting, President Zhang and President Stoll talk about the past cooperation achievements and the need for further support from CMB, and discussed in detail about the extension of memorandum of understanding (MOU). President Zhang expressed her sincere gratitude to CMB for its long-term support and invited President Stoll to attend the centenary celebration of PUMCH in September. President Stoll was pleased to accept the invitation, and said that extending the MOU is a continuation of the long-term friendship between the two institutions. CMB is looking forward to the continuing collaboration with PUMCH to promote the development of healthcare in China and wishes PUMCH a greater success in its next century.
The online meeting between President Zhang and CMB President Stoll took place the next day after Ma Xiaowei, Director of National Health Commission, had a phone call with Dr. Becerra, Secretary of the US Department of Health and Human Services. The collaboration between PUMCH and CMB conforms to the long-term multi-field, multi-channel and all-round cooperation trend of the health departments of China and the U.S., and it is also in line with the goal of building a community of common health for mankind.
Mr. Li Wenkai, Chief Representative of CMB Beijing Office, and He Jing, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Office also attended the video meeting.
