On April 14th, 2022, the Center for Drug Evaluation of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) and the Pelvic Floor Unit of the Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Chinese Medical Association held a seminar in PUMCH on the construction of Chinese Registration Platform of Pelvic Floor Implant Surgery Complications. The seminar was attended by Dong Fang, Director of the Center for Drug Evaluation of NMPA, Academician Lang Jinghe of Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of PUMCH, Professor Zhu Lan, Director of Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Professor Shi Honghui of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and all members of the Pelvic Floor Unit. The meeting specified the implementation principles and organizational structure of the project, the approach of utilizing big data to build a big platform, and the goal of uniting colleagues of obstetrics and gynecology nationwide to move towards clinical studies coordinated at a higher level.

This project originated from the first database of pelvic floor surgery and complications in China, which was established by around 30 unit members led by professor Zhu Lan in 2017, with the support of the specialty society under the Chinese Medical Association and the Chinese Preventive Medical Association. It is pioneering and forward-looking, and highly recognized by NMPA. After five years of development, nearly 100 hospitals have joined, and more than 2,500 cases have been entered into the system.
