On December 24, 2021, PUMCH held a conference in Beijing in commemoration of the 120th anniversary of Lin Qiaozhi’s birth. Academician Lang Jinghe from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at PUMCH, Academician Wang Chen, President of Peking Union Medical College of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and Wu Peixin, Vice President of PUMCH addressed the conference, with the attendance of over 150 representatives including PUMCH Chief Accountant Xiang Yanzhen, retired experts and all staff of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, , and those from more than 10 cooperative hospitals in Beijing, such as Peking University People’s Hospital, Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Capital Medical University, and Chinese PLA General Hospital. The participants paid tribute to Dr. Lin and looked into the future of obstetrics and gynecology.

As the main pioneer and founder of obstetrics and gynecology in China, Dr. Lin did not get married or bear children in her whole life, but was honored as the “Mother of All Infants”. Her lifelong goal is to “make all mothers happy and safe, and all children smart and healthy”. Dr. Lin, we want you to know that mothers and babies are healthy as you wish, and China is prosperous as you wish. Staff from PUMCH will continue to follow the footsteps of Dr. Lin and other great doctors of the older generation, in a bid to make new and greater contributions to the health and well-being of the people. Dr. Lin will always be in our hearts!
