Recently, the National Clinical Research Center for Dermatologic and Immunologic Diseases (NCRC-DID) released the “Rheumatoid Arthritis in China: A National Report of 2020”. This is the first rheumatoid arthritis report in China, and it presents a full picture of rheumatoid arthritis in China, including the latest epidemiological data, clinical features, disease diagnosis and treatment, resources and development status of the discipline, as well as the outlook of the discipline in China. The report is compiled by Zeng Xiaofeng, Director of NCRC-DID and Director of PUMCH Department of Rheumatology, Tian Xinping, Chief Physician of the Department of Rheumatology, and Li Mengtao, Deputy Director of the Department of Rheumatology.

In 2016, the Chinese Rheumatism Data Center (CRDC) launched the Chinese Registry of Rheumatoid Arthritis (CREDIT) nationwide and built a database, on which the “Rheumatoid Arthritis in China: A National Report of 2020” is based. The report covers clinical and laboratory tests, diagnosis and treatment, and prognosis information of more than 50,000 RA patients registered in more than 300 hospitals nationwide, providing first-hand data to reveal the full picture and characteristics of RA patients in China. The report not only provides a basis for the national health authorities to formulate health policies and allocate resources, but also helps the public better understand RA scientifically and provides a scientific basis for healthcare specialists to further improve their abilities in standard clinical treatment and relevant research of RA, which lays a solid foundation for improving RA treatment across the board in China.
