On October 19, 2020, PUMCH held the fifth batch of ‘group’ aid to Tibet medical team commendation meeting to summarize the achievements of the ‘group’ aid to Tibet in the past year and to commend 10 medical team members who have made important contributions to the medical and health undertakings in Tibetan areas. PUMCH has successively dispatched 56 business backbones in 6 batches to participate in the ‘group’ of medical talents to aid Tibet, to get involved in the development and construction of Tibet’s health care.
In July 2019, after the fifth batch of ‘group’ aid to Tibet medical team entered Tibet, led by team leader Yang Dungan, the team worked together with all employees of the People's Hospital of Tibet Autonomous Region to further promote the hospital’s discipline construction, talent training, and hospital management, especially the prevention and control of COVID-19.
This year, the hospital has promoted appointment registration and self-service with the goal of ‘maximum visiting once’; formulated and implemented discipline construction and development plans based on the ‘Nine-one’ requirements; established and improved modern hospitals based on the review of the ‘Tertiary A’ hospitals Management system: Taking middle-level cadres to go to the inland for centralized rotation training as a measure to strengthen the construction of the management team. The PUMCH Tibet Medical Team carried out 5204 operations, rescued 359 critical patients, organized 297 difficult case discussions, participated in 519 internal and external consultations, conducted 303 teaching rounds, organized 262 business training, ameliorate 36 medical procedures, improve 102 rules and regulations, develop 31 new technology and projects, apply for 13 scientific research projects, and hold 26 academic conferences.
This year, the Tibet Autonomous Region Severe Care Medicine, Ultrasound, Medical Record Quality Control Center, Critical Care, Emergency, and Surgery Specialty Nurse Training Base, and Nursing Quality Control and Continuous Improvement Center were established and affiliated with the People's Hospital of the Autonomous Region. The Department of Critical Care Medicine of the hospital established the sub-discipline of ‘High Altitude Critical Disease’ and promote the treatment of critical neurological diseases to domestic leading level. The Department of Ultrasound Medicine realized the integration of medical, education, research and management of the ultrasound information platform online. Department of Surgical Anesthesia established the first surgical anesthesia in Tibet Electronic system, the Department of Pathology introduced new molecular pathology diagnosis technology and built Tibet’s first molecular pathology detection center, the Department of Laboratory Medicine established Tibet’s first immune function platform based on flow cytometry technology, and the Department of Pharmacy compiled the first edition of “Drug Formulary of People’s Hospital of Tibet Autonomous Region” and recorded the first “Tibetan” medication education video.
