On the morning of March 27, 2019, a delegation of 37 from Siriraj Hospital, Thailand visited PUMCH. They visited the hospital history hall and outpatient building. Vice President Zhang Shuyang received the delegation. Siriraj is the largest teaching hospital in Thailand. Founded in 1888, it received its name from King Chulalongkorn and its construction was supported by the Rockefeller Foundation. The hospital grew under the support of the Thai royal family, is particularly strong in surgery, dermatology and some other fields, and also provides healthcare for the royal family. The visit paved the way for communication on staff training. It not only marked the first step of ties between the two institutions but represented PUMCH’s effort in implementing the Belt and Road Initiative of China.
