September saw the opening of the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). Requested by the National Health Commission and Beijing Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning, PUMCH, as the appointed institution, provided medical support to the event, and was responsible for emergency, patient transfer, and medical care at hotel and conference site. We completed the task successfully thanks to the leadership’s careful planning and staff’s devotion and close cooperation. On August 30, Beijing Deputy Mayor Lu Yan visited our hospital and praised our preparations. We selected 12 workers (10 medical and 2 logistical) for the Summit, who were divided into three groups for healthcare at hotel and conference. During the event, we received 21 patients (3 outpatient and 18 emergency) and transferred 3 malaria patients to other appointed institutions for further treatment.
