On March 1, 2018, Professor Jin Zhengyu received the title of “Honorary Member” of the European Society of Radiology (ESR) at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) held in Vienna, Austria. Professor Jin is a director member of the Radiology Society of the Chinese Medical Association, director of the Department of Radiology and doctoral advisor, PUMCH. He is the fifth radiologist from the Chinese mainland to receive the title, following professors Li Guozhen, Qi Ji, Dai Jianping and Guo Qiyong.

One of the largest and most influential radiology societies in the world, ESR boasts more than 75,500 members from 157 countries. ECR is the largest and most innovative of its kind in Europe, and the other world renowned radiology congress is that of Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). Since 1991, 3-4 distinguished experts are given the title “Honorary Member” each year. Jin’s new title demonstrated a bigger international say of the Chinese radiology community and will help with its further development.

Jin is also the first Chinese professor to be an honorary member of the Japanese Society of Radiology (JSR), RSNA and ESR. This is an honor of PUMCH as well as of the Chinese radiology community.
