On January 19, 2017, the International Society for Vascular Surgery (ISVS) announced the members of its new Executive Council. Professor Zheng Yuehong from our Department of Vascular Surgery was elected as one of the four international vice presidents. This is the first time that a vascular surgeon from China is elected into this role.

ISVS is the sanctuary of the international vascular surgery community. Professor Zheng has in recent years made tremendous efforts in academic promotion and internationalization of vascular medicine. As Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Angiology Academic Alliance (APA), he took the lead in organizing APA academic meetings in mainland cities and Macao. In 2016 he led the organization of more than 50 academic activities on micro-circulation at grassroots levels, which pushed forward the development and translation of vascular medicine across China.
