On the afternoon of June 29, a grand ceremony was held at the Lecture Hall of our hospital to mark the 95th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) as well as to grant awards as part of the 1st Micro Film Festival under the theme “PUMCH, a 95-year-old medical memory”.
The awarding ceremony was co-hosted by Li Zimeng from CCTV and Professor Yu Kang. Seven awards were unveiled: special jury prize, grand jury prize, best drama, best documentary, best screenplay, best innovation and best production. Premieres for award-winning films were also held.
Dubbed “PUMCH Academy”, the micro film festival, from its start on March 22 this year, received warm response from all medical workers and students of the hospital. Up to June 17, the jury had received 21 works from the ten Party branches, the department of education and the department of nursing. These works touch a wide range of fields including doctor-patient relationship, life saving, palliative care, aging society, residency education, quality nursing, technological innovation and professional ethics. Written, directed, shot and acted by PUMCH people, these 21 micro films, by showing touching stories and recording memorable moments, try to explore the nature of medicine, life and the relationship between doctors and patients. They showcase to the whole society the image and spirit of our hospital and its people, and serve as an inspiriting and warm “birthday gift” to both the Party and the hospital. The jury, after watching, scoring and hot discussions, finally selected out 15 winners including PUMCH Path and Warmth on Last Journey.
