The afternoon of May 17, 2016 saw the fourth coming of public interest performance under “May Festival” by the National Centre for the Performing Arts. Musicians from China Impression, a quartet of national music, performed for medical workers and patients at the main section of the outpatient and emergency building classic pieces including Ambush from Ten Sides and Knocking down Dates.
On the afternoon of May 26, Philip Kates, violinists from Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, entered PUMCH wards for the fourth time in five years to give a public interest performance to patients from paediatrics and ophthalmology departments. Philip, working together with doctor Cai Siyi from the Orthopedics Department and Guo Jing from the Publicity Department, presented a tale called A Cow Who Loves Flowers. The performance brought laughter to wards and temporarily lifted patients out of pain.
