On October 3-4, 2014, the second workshop of Otology- Neurotology of Fisch International Microsurgery Foundation (FIMF) was held at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Professor Gao Zhiqiang from the department of otorhinolaryngology, PUMCH, attended as a honor guest and gave a report named “The Practice of FIMF Technique and Philosophy in the Training of PUMCH”. Considering the good clinical results of treating patients using Fisch technical system in PUMCH and Gao’s contributions to trainings on temporal bone microsurgical techniques, FIMF gave its otology award to Professor Gao, who thus became the first Chinese scholar to receive the award.
