Professor Du Bin, MICU director of PUMCH, was elected chairman of the Asia Pacific Association of Critical Care Medicine (APACCM) as the Association elected new directors at its 20th international conference in Jaipur, India, February 2014. This is the first time that a Chinese expert is elected chairman of an international academic organization on critical care medicine, a sign of international recognition of the development of critical care medicine in China in recent years.
APACCM is the highest-level academic organization on critical care medicine in Asia and pan-Pacific area, whose members include more than 20 countries and regions including China, Japan and South Korea. The organization holds its conference biennially, and the next will be held in Thailand, 2016.
