Delegation of UMass Medical School Visits PUMCH

On the morning of October 25, 2018, a five-people delegation of University of Massachusetts Medical School visited PUMCH, and had discussions on post-graduate medical education. The guests were: Luanne Thorndyke, deputy director of Teacher Development, Anne Larkin, assistant dean of Post-graduate Medical Education, Melissa Fischer, assistant dean of Undergraduate Medical Education, Richard Forster, vice chair of Post-graduate Medical Education, and Qin Lan, director of Neurology Medical Student Training. The PUMCH side were: Zhang Shuyang, vice president, Qiu Jie, director of Education Office, Cui Liying, director of Department of Neurology, Yan Xiaowei, deputy director of Department of Medicine, Weng Xisheng, deputy director of Department of Surgery, and Zhu Huijuan, executive deputy director of Department of Endocrinology.

Zhu Huijuan gave an introduction of current residency education in the hospital, and Luanne briefed on the post-graduate education of UMass Medical School. The two sides discussed the training, assessment system and elimination mechanism of residents. The delegation expressed wish to develop a friendship and go into closer cooperation.
