Health Youth Innovation Center Established in Beijing

On August 16, 2018, the Health Youth Innovation Center was established at the Lecture Hall, PUMCH. Vice Director of the National Health Commission (NHC) Cui Li attended the meeting and the inauguration ceremony. Zhao Yupei, CAS academician and PUMCH president, and Wang Chen, CAE academician and vice president, and PUMC president, were present at the meeting. Ten experts, including Qiu Guixing, Lang Jinghe, Zhan Qimin and Wang Jianye, were invited as members of the first experts’ committee, and 38 young experts were invited to act as tutors.

The Center is under the guidance of NHC’s Party Committee and Department of Education as well as PUMCH, hosted by NHC’s Youth League and Peking Union Medical Foundation (PUMF), and organized by PUMCH Youth League and Youth Work Department, and PUMF Qinglan-Medical Youth Development Fund. The Center will build a curriculum and faculty fit for enhancing innovative capability in medical fields, strengthen intellectual property awareness, give full-course support to the incubation and translation of youth projects and carry out wide communication and exchanges.


The Center also signed separately MOU with Patent Examination Cooperation Center, SPO and Hong Kong United Youth Association, to cooperate in supporting doctors’ innovations and project incubation.


Along with the meeting were two forums: Consensus on Cultivating Innovative Capability and Clinical Innovational and Translational Cases MDT Salon. The meeting also collected and displayed innovation cases in five categories: medical devices, biomedicine, digital healthcare, clinical nursing and medical management.
